Honolulu, Hawaii — Amy Yasunaga, RN, MSN, Ph.D., has been appointed chief nurse executive for Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, Oahu region. She will oversee the nursing services departments at both Leahi Hospital and Maluhia.
Previously, Yasunaga served as the family nurse practitioner at the state Department of Public Safety, in addition to being the program manager of the state Department of Health Statewide Sexual Assault Program. She has over 33 years of healthcare and nursing experience.
“Amy is an outstanding addition to the HHSC Oahu Region leadership team,” said Vincent S. Lee. “She is extremely familiar with both health and state government challenges, and more importantly, is patient focused and excited about the challenges ahead.”
Leahi Hospital and Maluhia, in addition to 10 other facilities, are operated and managed by HHSC. Established in 1996, HHSC is a public benefit corporation of the State of Hawaii.
